You took my idea!!! :) (I guess mine will have to be The Adventures of Pink Square)

Cool game. You might want to work on how the square reacts with the platform though. If you don't land on the platforms just right, the square will slip right off like butter. You can expand on this, making more levels and stuff like that.

Also, try adding Minimalist under your tags if possible. Might get you more people playing your game.

Raikhen responds:

jaja sorry for stealing u the idea :)

im serious

I really like the game. The different angles really didn't make it harder though. I had trouble with the controls, but I think that's my own fault. I'm not the most coordinated person. Very good job.

makehimanoffer responds:

the angles were moreso to make it more disorienting. it was ggoing to be going the full 360 degrees. but that would punish players who died more often. and so I took it out.

I wish I could give you a better review, but the controls and mechanics kind of ruined a lot of the fun I could have had. It had a lot of interesting ideas for the wall jumping and platforming, but the control made it unenjoyable and frustrating to play. Breaker5 pretty much explains it all. Also, walking off the edge to get to a wall that's directly below me is annoying as well since some of the walls are very small (one to two blocks) and you can easily go too far over to the left or right and miss coming back. You could have had the down button, in the case, make the knight slide down the nearest wall connected to the platform you're on.

I should also note that on one of the last stages where you have to run from that vampire thing is very difficult (so far, I wasn't able to beat it) due to these controls and the controls being somewhat unresponsive during critical points of the gameplay in that level. (Also there are times when the knight is walking left or right and he'll continue to do so when I let go of the arrow keys, making him fall off ledges and getting him killed).

Still, I do like the idea and game itself despite the controls. DO NOT let this discourage you from making games. I wish I could make games half as good as this one.

Mythologic responds:

I think the problems with the controls you have described are more lag based, certainly slow down will cause some issues. Try adjusting the quality settings, it's a very large game so older PC's are probably gonna have a tough time with it. Thanks for the review.

This game is a lot better than the other comments are making it out to be. I was able to beat the game along with a lot of other people. Although some of the puzzles were tough, they did in some ways make sense (though there were more sensible ways to solve some of them).

However, the instructions mention the talk, look, and grab command, which I only came across once in game so I would suggest taking it out of the game completely if it isn't used that much anyways.

For a new game, try to do something like a horror game, but with the same mechanic as this game. I've never played a horror game with this style so it might be interesting.

inkagames responds:

Thank you for the feedback, we'll implement the instructions suggestion in the next game: Zombie Prison Escape (ends of July 2016), just if you want to check how we did it :)

I agree with others when they say it is a little too simple. I probably could have made this type of game with Stencyl within less than a week and I've yet to actually make one of my own. This game could have been improved with character art rather than just boxes of color. Still, this is one of your first submitted games so I'll let you slide.

Also, to other players wondering how to get the Aspiring Banker medal, let the yellow blocks fall off the screen. (Also, if the last medal is suppose to be worth 50 points and it's worth zero, I would suggest contacting Tom yourself since the players will most likely direct their disappoint towards you and your game, which will make for a lower overall rating).

Koverted responds:

This game, however, wasn't made with Stencyl it was coded from scratch but it was made in around 2 days. Why is art so important for a quick arcade games like this? If simplicity is a problem just because of the art then I don't really think that's fair criticism but if it was because of the gameplay then fair enough. "Mini Diver is a fun, minimalistic, arcade game."

It is an interesting game, but there are some PROBLEMS STILL!

- Whenever I go to read specific book shelves (ex: Jarod's Log #21), the game freezes.
- I remember having a saved game before, but a white screen would always come up when I went to load it. Now, it is gone.
PLEASE FIX THESE!!!

People are right in saying that this game seems a little bland... so far. The next installment could be a big shift. Please don't let any of the comments stop you from making your games. Believe it or not, you'll probably make a few people sad if you never finished this off or at least added another installment to test it out. This game is good. Better than a lot of the new stuff that is being submitted to newgrounds.

TheEnkian responds:

Yeah, there's definitely a lot of problems that we missed during development. The bookshelves seemed fine too upon release, but in the past three/four days a few people have said there were issues.

The next game is fully written (script and all) and I have the vast majority of the artwork finished. We're probably going to take a little bit of time between games in the series so we can work on a few other projects and then get back into it. We want to make sure that we take the first game in the series as our starting point and each game be significantly better. Hopefully it'll blow a few minds, haha.

Thanks for the encouraging words, they're much appreciated.

The game looks interesting, but I was unable to go very far on it because the entire game froze up on me near the beginning, usually after I have shot the first zombie (I know it is frozen because the +50 is suspended in mid-air). I restarted the game, but it happened again. (To let you know, I have watched most of the tutorial and know how to play).

I read another review that had a similar complaint and it appeared that you misinterpreted that reviewers complaint, questioning whether or not him or her knew how to play when I think the problem is the one I am describing to you. I don't know if there is a problem with my computer or your game, but my computer has worked for at 95% percent of the games on here. I would like to give you a higher rating since the game looks unique and engaging, but I'm giving you 1.5 stars until the problem is resolved.

Hey Plasmarift! Thanks for your feedback! I really appreciate that you took some time to write all that down!!!
What browser do you use? Did you try Chrome? That is usually the most stable browser when it comes down to html5-games!
