There are definitely problems with this game, but it isn't unbeatable.
- The guns only do damage to enemies nearby (which would go against the point of having a gun since it's suppose to be ranged weaponry). Guns is no different than fists in this game.
- the guns can also attack those behind you, even if your not facing in their direction.
- If you jump above the Uber kids, they will continually hit and juggle you until you get to one of the higher platforms
- If an Uber kid is above you on a higher platform, they will sometimes start punching.

And to address some of the other things people brought up
- It is true; you are not offered a lot of money for each kill at the beginning. Upgrade "cashing amount" to get more.
- In different games, Pico has been shown to be taller sometimes.
- If you alternate between attacking and blocking, the enemies can't hurt you.

And as for the game itself, it is simple and is a little bit of fun, but the problems and game limitations (one screen and no variation of enemies) does not help. There should also be better descriptions in the upgrade menu; one of the upgrades said "enemy attack strength". Some people might think if they spend money on that one, they are upgrading the enemy strength instead of decreasing it. The music is good. However, once you get all the upgrades and reach Wave 10, there really isn't anything else to do other than to keep fighting the same enemies over and over again with only their numbers increasing or quit. Still, this is better than any game I could make by myself. Good job and I hope to see improvement in your new games.

IndigenousDigitalist responds:

Thanks, I made this game awhile ago, it's nice to see that people still care about it. Since I made it awhile ago, a lot of those errors you pointed out were simply because I was inexperienced and didn't know enough about programming to make a better game, but I'm glad that you enjoyed it!

Man, I wasn't expecting this! Still cool though. Thanks for the medals and may the duck be with you.

DeSaGames responds:

The duck is always with everyone buddy, don't you ever forget that.

It took me a little while to figure out how to play the game. Although you provided instructions, the yellow/orange bar was not explained. It would be extremely helpful to see an example of a level being completed so the player know what the bar is used for.

Still, a very interesting concept. It feels like it is missing something that would have really increased the difficulty, but nothing comes to mind. Good job though. I look forward to your next project.

SatelitePlay responds:

Thanks. I agree that I should have tried to explain better how the game is played. If I do a post-compo version I'll take that in account.

If I am not mistaken, you already released a game with a similar set up to this, though you have made many changes and many improvements. Still, there are problems with it as others have pointed out.
- The medals are not working. I beat the game and I saw the doctor that "Heals your wounds with her skill and your soul with her lips" and I didn't get any medals.
- I had trouble finding enough water to get by at times. Why does water only become more available while traveling and not as much while searching for food (there's no "find water" option). At one point, I was unable to find enough water. I had 200 food, yet no water. However, this situation didn't last long because of a number of random events that occurred. Still, it may have been luck so you either need to make water more abundant, or instruct players what to do to find water because I've wasted a lot of time searching for food in the hopes of finding water (though I suppose it wasn't a complete waste of time).
- There is also a glitch in the crying woman event during traveling. Whenever I select "See if she is alright", the screen flashes and leaves me on the same page.
- Although others are complaining about it, I understand that the weapons and armor are very hard to find because they would give the player a higher advantage in the game if they found weapons and armor a lot.
- Medkits were pretty easy to find (and with enough of them, you wouldn't have to worry about resting without food or water) and I only encountered one random zombie fight during my entire playthrough.

You should really have some beta testers play these types of games first before releasing it. (I'd volunteer)
(By the way, I like the reference you put in there to your other zombie game).

Hyptosis responds:

Many of those bugs have been fixed, refresh the game. Thanks for the detailed feedback! You rock!

I can understand that some people are complaining about the game because of its difficulty, but since when should a game be voted down just because you can't beat it or because it was hard to beat? I wouldn't listen to people like dreamsfan because I'm pretty sure he didn't finish the game or playthrough all of the disabilities (because then he'd know nearly blind, spastic, and illiterate are the same length). The game shows that you can accomplish a difficult task, despite a disability, but it also shows the unfair limitations, shown at the end of the game. Gracik from the comments below was right when he said spastic feels like the game is going against you, impeding your progress (I played through it and it sure felt that way). Perhaps that's how people with spastic feel.

This game voices what many have thought in passing, but never dared voice. I've thought the same way as the antagonists of this game sometimes and I'm not proud. Those who have no disability don't feel the need to take care of those who have disabilities, because they believe they have the luxury to not help when they could very easily end up in the same situation tomorrow. It is so easy to take life for granted when nothing is wrong, but it does nothing to complain about your situation, despite how unfair it seems.

Very good game. I'd suggest adding some type of save feature where once you move onto a screen, you will reappear on that screen until you move to the next level, no matter where you die (this is mostly for the spastic disability because when I went backwards, I would fall into lava, and be forced to redo a screen). By the way, I have a feeling that I would have never beaten nearly blind had I not played spastic first.

Kcori responds:

Thanks for the thoughtful review.

i do intend to make it so you reappear on the side of the screen you died on. Always appearing on the left is something annoying completely unrelated to your character's disability and has no reason to exist in the game.

The game was definitely hard with the small amount of health boxes dropped. There seems to be a problem with the super knight medal though. I've beaten the game, and gotten all the upgrades to my knowledge, but the the medal hasn't unlocked.

Shimiegames responds:

Thanks for your feedback.
I've updated the game and fixed the medal issue.

As short as it is, the game is very good. The gameplay is smooth and fair although at times, I feel like it is too easy (even on hard mode. Just taking away the health packs does always increase the difficulty, especially if you rarely get shot. Increasing the enemies' reaction time would make it harder though). There is a glitch and a few annoyances though.

- During the training program, after I have faced the boss in a previous play through, I will sometimes start off with the shotgun.
- The cop that comes up in the lower right corner after the player gets a certain score multiplier is cool, but it makes it hard to see enemies in that part of the screen (although the game isn't randomly generated so after a few play through, the positions of the enemies should be somewhat known)
- Why is it when I shot a health pack, my multiplier disappears? I wouldn't expect it to increase, but to disappear seems a little unfair.
- I've tried multiple times on the training course, but I cannot seem to get the highest difficulty, even after a perfect run-through with no misses. Is there something I'm missing?

Still, a pretty cool game and I look forward to your next one.

Mennez responds:

Thanks for your review. If I make a sequel in the future, I will fix these bugs / issues. Good feedback, appreciated -- thanks again!

The game was okay, but why didn't you alert me that the game came out? I helped play test it and you said you'd put my name in the credit for helping out.

azureda responds:

Hey Rift.

Sorry, I forgot to tell you. I've given you credit on the front page.

The game was actually pretty difficult, although it is simple in graphics and pretty easy to design. I like the design for the main character. Very good idea removing the use of the Tab key too, but why do the medals stop at level 5 when there are more levels?

idaviie responds:

i have added the rest of the medals and thanks for the comment. im planing on joining someone who knows how to create graphics im just a beginer lol

The game is very good. it doesn't really seem that hard to get all stars so far, but I've stopped playing because the medals aren't working. Please fix them.

TinSleeves responds:

Thanks for letting me know about the medals Plasmarift, I've just gone in and fixed the problem.
Hope you enjoy the game now :)
