I'm extremely surprised that this doesn't have multiple comments. At first glance, it looks like a picture. In fact, I'm not exactly sure if it is or not (my instincts tell me it is). If it is, then you have great talent: to be able to create photo quality paintings with a brush is amazing. Shouldn't you be on television or working for a big art company right now? I love newgrounds, but I must say, your work is almost too good to just display it here. Good luck with your next painting.

wartynewt responds:

Thank you so much for the comment and it's completely painted.

I believe this is the girl from "Hood". Last I heard, she was traveling with the wolf (sorry, I don't remember specific names). She looks strong and certain of herself, not something I usually see in stories (I usually expect helplessness and dependance which gets annoying). I hope to see her in future releases of your games, especially "Kingdom of Liars" since it seems the ending results of Hood are going to become entwined with the story. Good work with the art.

Hyptosis responds:

She was! Baldewin is the wolf's name, but it isn't said in the story very often. I am tying the two stories together to make one future series, thanks!

Very good painting. It reminds me of "Sleepy Hollow", the bridge of souls. I can't say I understand everything about the picture, such as who the huntsman is and what makes that cross shaped tree special (or maybe it's a giant sword), but I understand the overall situation: the glowing thing keeps the monster away. It's a wonder piece. Keep up the good work.

veselekov responds:

It is a background I did for a cartoon about DarkSouls II. The glowing sword is an OP weapon. As for it being called huntsman's copse we don't know yet.

This is awesome. I don't know if it would fall under the category of personification with the woman representing not only the country, but the ethnic groups in them as well, but the idea is great and unique. This is a piece of art that could and probably should be shown to schools when discussing ethnic diversity (although it does only scratch the surface of all the different ethnic groups in the world, it is still really good). And the picture itself is beautiful and well made as well. It reminds me of something a photographer would want to arrange in real life and take a picture of. Very, very well done.

Trebuxet responds:

Very thanks ! :D

Very interesting. It looks like it takes place after that person was shot through the head and now they've turned into a monster, whether it is from going to hell or from their own hatred or choices is a mystery. It reminds me of an ending of Darkness 2, but hell looks a lot different. Very good job and let me know if you ever want to expand on this.

NullBoss responds:

Thanks for the kind comments. Now that you mention it, it is very Darkness 2, isn't it? in a way. Also, how do you mean expand on this? I'm interested.

I'll agree with rivj3. The pose is great! This departs somewhat from most of your others posts. Did something inspire you with this piece?

Cenaf responds:

thanks. Cant really remember, since it was a while ago. But time to time i like to try out different stuff to draw.

Although it is lacking in detailed colors, shading, and the perspective is a little off for the room where the girl is, I like the picture and the creepy character is awesome! There were times I would click off the page because the thing creepy me out. I'd definitely like to see this taken further, such as making it into a short animation or something. Although it has faded after looking at the picture in detail, you definitely captured a feeling of fear and venerability in the picture, a feeling no one wants to have in a real situation, but to experience it in entertain is both scary and safe (I'm not sure where I was going with that last sentence, but capturing a vulnerable scene like this is scary).

How did you come up with the idea for the monster? Very good job.

TomahawkTerror responds:

I appreciate your review! As for your question. The monster, I've always fetishist body-horror (like 'The Thing', 'Silent Hill', etc.) and I'm always thinking of ways to morph the human form.

Very appealing and sexual without showing anything that would need censured on TV. Very good job. I especially like the pose.

Oye-LKY responds:

Thanks, appreciate your comment a lot.

I would really like to know the backstory to this picture. This creature (or plant) is standing in a pool of its own blood. It's feet look like roots so I'm guessing that this thing is soaking up its own blood and bleeding it bad out. I don't know if the person's review below me is correct, but when looking at art like this, people seem to find it to have deeper meaning. The name Venus has been associated historically with beauty and honestly, the main body itself is not bad looking yet they are the only things that are confined by string. I'm not really sure what to think, but I like art that gets me to think. Good job.

TheN0mad responds:

as i told invaderatomis, there is not much to tell really " all in the eye of the beholder" as it were, artwork is at its best when it is ambiguous, when it gets people to think and feel things, but not just one thing.. a painting of a mountain is nice... but it will only ever show you a mountain. a painting of a thought or idea can show you much more and it will never show the same thing to any one person, that, at least in my mind, is true beauty

I really like the colors of the space rainbows, the platform, and the overall background, but the animated girl just kind of takes away from this a little since she contrasts so much from everything else (it just kind of seems like she was thrown in there). Though, even with this opinion, I think the picture looks really good and I definitely like the detail you put in the girl character, especially in the shadows on her clothes (the head looks a little bit awkward compared to the rest of her though).

Keep up the good work and good luck with finals (I have two finals left to take).

MSPToons responds:

Rainbows are so much fun to make XD
I noticed the head issues while coloring it, but I'd already spent several hours on it and I didn't feel like going back and fixing it. The rainbows, oddly enough, were actually the afterthought (it started with a random sketch of the girl O_o). I'm a good test-taker, so no worries about finals for me (except psychology T_T), and I hope you do well on yours too.
