I must say, she is very cute looking. Not very detailed, but it doesn't need to be; it is fine as it is! By the way, where did you get the idea for her outfit?

Bippo responds:

I don't really know... It's just one of those loose fitting tank tops and jean shorts.

You did a great job on the overall shape and shading, but there are a few parts that seem wrong to me. The hip on the left side doesn't look like it comes out enough and I can see like lines on the stomach, some of which look like they were part of the original sketch outline (like on the stomach). Also, the shading on the legs and left arm look like squiggly lines. Still, I like the overall drawing (you drew the face very well and the pose is also good).

Luciaea responds:

Thanks for the detailed review. About squiggly lines: I try to keep my work close to realism but don't want it to become photographic copy... so I want you to see it as a drawing... hence the shade outline on the stomach was erased originally, but I added it back in. On the other hand, if it's bothering you, I probably did not get it right enough to get the feeling of drawing across...

I'll take note of your comments and be sure to watch for them in future work.

Definitely a good drawing. It's not completely realistic, but I don't think you were going for that anyways. Very good work on the subtle shading and anatomy, but the girl's irises are two different sizes. Also, the girl's hair is a little bit too shiny (though this is just a personal opinion). Ignoring the shininess, the hair looks extremely authentic (whenever I usually see a drawing with hair, it just looks like brush strokes) This is 10 times better than anything I could make and I look forward to your next submission. Good work.

Silvertwilight responds:

I tried to make it more beautiful than realistic one. But I think you're right, and there're still a lot of detail to enhance. Thank you.

I've never heard of the series, but the picture looks great. Good work with the shading, lighting effect, and vibrant colors. The way she is running, however, looks a little awkward; her knees are nearly touching each other and if she was actually running, her other leg would be more forward than it is to take the next step (though if her leg was like this, I don't think it would look as good).

I also like what you did with the background. It appears to be transitioning to day where she is running while behind her, it is night (I don't really understand the purple zig zag though). Still, very good job on this picture. My final comment is this: are those arms growing out of the cat's ears?

lilHeart responds:

Thank you~! ^^
Oh, yeah I noticed that the legs were kind of off but I noticed it only after I started coloring. :/
That happens way too often. TT_TT ugh
Uhh well in the show there are witches that, when encountered, warp the world, like everything becomes weird and wacky, so that's why I kind of put those zig-zags there
They were meant like a glimpse of that warped surrounding.

Oh my, umm that's a good question. :D I don't even know if those are arms. I don't think they are.
I did not design this character so I have no idea but all I can say is that it's not a cat but a magical alien creature. If that helps. XD

Seems that this piece has a statement of deeper meaning that corresponds with the title; the title says "Needs?" as in questioning why the character (who appears to be a withered man and is naked among nature. A reference to the Garden of Eden. Perhaps he looks that why based on choices that he made.) looks up at the items (that are coming out of his head) with envy when all of the items are not necessary for survival; They're just comforts. It seems the man should be focusing on more important things like food, water, and clothes. Very good picture and message. The artwork isn't superb, but it is good and definitely better than anything I have made. Great job.

Nersul responds:

Thanks for the review.

On the thumbnail, it really did look like a photograph. I can see that it isn't, but it definitely says something about the quality of the art. Great job on the shading and coloring! You should try and get this to him somehow. I think he'd like it.

imcostalong responds:

Thanks! yeah I posted it on GameGrumps subreddit... I got the NSFW album and was reallllyyyy into the song I have in the video and just had to paint the dude...

I really like the cutie-type art that you make (sorry, I can't think of a better term), especially pictures like this though I wish there was more background in this one. I would've commented on your profile picture if I could have (I think it is extremely good). I hope to see more of your work on newgrounds soon.

SweetySetsu responds:

Huh Thanks you very much *-* Yeah I'm gonna post more !! :D

I've never read the series, but the picture looks awesome. It reminds me of pictures shown in Greek mythology books. The ocean in the background, however, seems under-detailed and too undisturbed compared to what is happening in the foreground to look real (it just seems strange from my perspective). Still, I love the detail you put into this. Perhaps, you should ask the creator of the book series if they need an illustrator if they don't have one already. Good job!

bonbon3272 responds:

Perhaps I will... Oh wait... that would be me... hehe. Yeah, I see what you're saying. Traditional is a bit harder than digital. Once it's down on paper there're no layers to just move around. But it was fun to do. I'm thinking of putting it the book anyhow, maybe take up two whole pages as a surprise to the reader.

I like the different colors on the ground caused by the lighting where the fog is (the green seems a little out of place, but it looks cool to me). I like the amount of detail you put into each small thing (like the fire, the shadows on the people and rock formations, and the small town onto of the mountain to the left). Very good job!

YakovlevArt responds:

thanks a lot!
I tried to keep it atmospheric, but spark a few areas with detail.
Glad you like it =]

I can't believe no one has commented on this yet! This is extremely good. I'm guessing the light blue in the background is fog, correct? The dragon looks amazing and it reminds me of a statue that I have in my room. I don't know if you'll receive a lot of attention for all your hard work on this piece, but in my eyes, you are a talented artist! Keep up the awesome work and I'm going to check out your other stuff later!

archir responds:

Thanks for the kind words:) I think there just so many artists out there it's pretty hard to stand out these days
