I'm not exactly sure how to rate this. At first, I thought it was a field rye, but I discovered it was sand after translating the title. I can definitely see how it can be sand. Still, the sand contrasts with the reddish-brown object, since the object is smoothly drawn (the object is well-drawn as it looks 3D. Is it a car or maybe a catapult)? To me, the sand looks like distorted lines when viewed up close, almost like something I'd expect to see in a horror movie or game, but I have to give you credit for being able to convey the image of sand by doing this (I can see the shape of the sand hills).

Like I said, I don't know how to rate this since there is both good and bad with the image you are trying to convey and a lot of what I'm saying is opinional so I will give you an above average score. I do like the picture and I hope you'll continue to draw.

It's a broken desert buggy 3D model I've done almost 2 years ago, the whole image actually was created one year ago for a test-render, so there's place to improvement...

Well, actually I'm working to a movie... if you want to check my gallery and my site...

I never heard of /F/lockdraw until today, but I may look into getting it if it is free. Although there is nothing new or advanced about the picture concept or drawing style, I really like the picture. She doesn't look completed realistic, but a picture isn't doesn't have to look like a photograph. The shading of the hair and skin are very well done and the color choices are better than anything I could come up with for a picture like this (I also like the smile and the bare shoulder). I will admit, it does look a little blurry for some reason. This doesn't take away from what I think of it though. Very good job and I hope to see more great art like this from you.

Man, I'd like to see this turned into a series! It looks awesome (the girl kind of reminds me of Gwen from Ben 10). I like the seriousness you put into the pictures yet when they center on kids, you still sneak in some playful stuff, like the blue and white headphones with the heart on it. The shading is good, but it looks like it is a little too dark in some places, especially near the girl's waist though this is only my opinion. The background, although it looks strange when examined alone, seems to go with the character, but I feel like a different background would have worked better. I like the orange sheen that you added in with the girl's hair: it really makes it stand out and makes it look so real. I guess the only thing left to say is that blue appears to be very prominent in this picture, being used in the gauntlet light, the girl's eyes, her shirt, and the background. I can't picture this painting looking as good had any of these been a different so I suppose it was a good color decision. Good work!

The head, by far, is the most attractive part of the picture (the pale teal color for the eyes was a good choice). I also like the hair style, the collar of the dress (the dress is okay) are good as well. However, I'd suggest next time creating a background where the color does not blend in so much with the foreground (the red star and the dress). Also, the hands and dress seem to be lacking in detail compared to the head (I'm not really sure what to say about the floating eyebrows that can be seen through her brown hair because I've seen them in many other drawings as well).

Still, I do like the picture. The girl is very pretty and I like the innocence of the picture. I hope to see more from you in the future.

The blending and colorings are interesting. What program did you use to make this? The shading effects on the Pikachu and the package are pretty good though the background (although it is good looking), it contrasts from the foreground. The concept is sweet and cute and I'm sure your brother loved it!

Blobmonster responds:

Sorry for the long respond time. I just used Photoshop, though it might have been better to do in illustrator because of vectors. The background is a bit wonky, yeah, but I didn't want to make it super complicated.

The art style reminds me of a cross between Sailor Moon, Dragonball Z, and perhaps something else that I've forgotten over the years. The bright colors really make Zelda and the background stand out (the tree and grass look a little strange though when you compare them to the background. Also, the perspective might be a little off; it looks like the moon is directly in front of Zelda). Still, very good job and good luck on your next picture!

Thanks :D!

Topless alien bug sounds kind of dirty, but this painting is pretty cool (what's topless in the picture). The dark atmospheric alien background is great (usually I am cynical of pictures that are very dark, but I like this one. Maybe it's the many shades of green). The laser is one of the most unique things I've seen in a picture in a while (it reminds me of the end of the new Star Trek movie where they eject the core and the blue explosion pushes them away. Very good job on the picture. By the way, what is that bug firing at?

Medievil jell-o? That's awesome. I love the concept and I'd like to see a cube shaped monster made of gelatin (that is apparently acidic). And to top it off, when that guy got killed, the jell-o got weapons to use.

I'm now able to spot your style pretty easily. The blending of the dark blue and light blue in the sky is great. The background, however, isn't really detailed (I know this is a speed painting, but the sand is dotted and the clouds do not look very realistic). The foreground character is very well drawn and I like the idea (you mixed a sort of innocence and playfulness of childhood into what appears to be soldier). The face structure and shading is good as well.

I did want to ask you something; I noticed a number of your picture focus on young girl in either rough situations handling them extremely well or in poses where they have a tough look or a cool power, all of which are pleasant surprises compared to the multitude of other pictures that just portray women as sex objects. Why are you interested in drawing these kinds of pictures? Are you inspired to do so by something?

Also, why is "sweets" written backwards on the helmet?

The only thing I might suggest with future drawings is that you experiment with different facial structures and head sizes. Many of the females you draw look alike aside from their hair style and color.

If only it worked that way with girls...
